Terms of Sale and Use

Draft. Not yet in force: the operator's details and some terms are still to be filled in.

Effective [Effective date]

1. These terms

These terms apply when you buy a Claron licence, use this website, or write to support. Claron is made by [Operator name] ("we"). Using the software is covered by the End User Licence Agreement.

2. What you buy

A Claron licence is a key that lets you use Claron in one major version (for example 1.x) and every release within it, on up to two computers at a time. Claron processes images only on a computer where a licence is active. A licence does not expire and is not a subscription. A new major version is a separate, optional purchase; the version you bought keeps working.

Claron runs on Macs with Apple silicon and macOS 13 or later. It reads the raw files of the cameras LibRaw supports, and DNG files from any camera; if you are unsure about yours, write to us before you buy.

3. Who sells it to you

Licences are sold by Polar (polar.sh) as merchant of record: your contract for the payment is with Polar, Polar charges any tax due, and Polar's terms apply to the payment. Your licence key is sent to you by Polar by email as soon as payment is complete.

The price is the one shown at checkout, including any tax Polar adds for where you are.

4. Refunds

If Claron does not work for you, ask for a refund within 14 days of buying, through Polar or by writing to privacy@claron.app, and you will be refunded in full. A refunded licence stops working on all computers. This does not take away any right you have under the law where you live.

5. Support

We answer support messages by email, in English, as soon as we reasonably can. There is no guaranteed response time.

6. Using the site and support

Do not use the site, the account page or support to send spam, to try to get into anyone else's account or licence, to overload the service, or to send anything unlawful. We may block access that does.

7. Liability

The limits on our liability in the End User Licence Agreement apply to these terms too. Nothing limits liability for loss caused by our intent or gross negligence, or that the law does not allow to be limited.

8. Changes, law and contact

We may change these terms. A change does not affect a purchase already made.

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction over disputes as the court of first instance. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of mandatory laws where you live.
